#3 RCTC Volleyball Sweeps DCTC on home floor

The #3-ranked Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) volleyball team continued its impressive season with a commanding 3-0 sweep over Dakota County Technical College (DCTC) on Monday night at the Performance Court. The Yellowjackets took the match in straight sets: 25-22, 25-11, and 25-18.

RCTC came out strong in the opening set, led by Lily Holtan's powerful hitting. Holtan tallied 11 kills on 26 attempts with a .231 hitting percentage, setting the tone early. The Yellowjackets pulled away late in the first set and never looked back. In the second set, RCTC tightened its grip, holding DCTC to just 11 points while hitting .111 as a team.

The third set saw RCTC close out the match with their most efficient offensive performance of the night, hitting .321. Kylie Minnich and Abby Evans each contributed 6 kills, while Morgan Hansen added 4 kills and a .300 hitting percentage. Carmen Nerison ran the offense with 28 assists and added 3 service aces.

Defensively, Jayda Bednarek led with 13 digs, and the team combined for 34 digs and 6 total blocks.

With the win, RCTC improves its record to 18-7 and continues to build momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season. The Yellowjackets will look to finish the home protion of their season with a conference win over Anoka-Ramsey on Wednesday.  The match will be the final home match for the Jacket Sophomores.
