Rochester, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets jumped out of the gate quickly 5-0 in the first set and never looked back, cruising to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-14, 25-14) win over the Blue Devils of Riverland Community College. The Jackets got 11 kils and a .35 hitting percentage from Stewartville's Kylie Minnich, and 22 assists with 6 service aces from setter Carmen Nerison to lead the Jackets.
Along with Minnich's big offensive night the freshman had 3 service aces, and 7 digs to fill the stat sheet. Lily Holtan added 9 kills for the Jackets, while Morgan Hansen, in her first action since an ankle injury early in the season added 4 kills. Abby Evans, Carly Matthees, and Natalie LaBonte added 3 kills apiece.
Defensively Jayda Bednarek paced the Jackets with 12 digs. All 13 Yellowjackets played in the match for Coach Jen Nerison.
RCTC is back on its home court on Friday at 6:30 as they take on Southern Division foe Ridgewater. The Jackets are now 6-6 on the season and 3-1 in the MCAC South. Ridgewater is 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the Southern Division.
