Damien Sara began his asst. coaching role in 2025-26. Born and raised in Rochester, his coaching journey began in 2015 when he coached his younger sister's 6th grade basketball team. He began my career in coaching softball in 2017, where he has coached middle school, high school, travel, and private lessons.
He truly believes his life's purpose is to develop and support student-athletes, both on the field and off, and that belief shines through in the relationships he has developed with student-athletes, their families, and the community.
His passion for promoting the development of student-athletes extends off the field, where he teaches in the Rochester Public School district and has been teaching since 2018. Coach Sara has taught a wide variety of subjects, including Music, Spanish, Special Education, and Physical Education, which has afforded me the opportunity to work with and learn from a diverse population of students.
His core belief as a coach is to use softball as a medium to develop headstrong, independent young women who will positively impact their communities; He believes that these young leaders will be the ones to create positive change in our world.
When not coaching, he loves to watch Minnesota sports, spend time with friends and family, and support his student-athletes in their non-softball interests.
