RCTC Names Jeremy Richardson Head Football Coach of Yellowjacket Program

ROCHESTER, Minn. — Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) is pleased to announce the hiring of Jeremy Richardson as the new Head Football Coach of the Yellowjacket Football Team, effective immediately.

Richardson brings extensive experience in collegiate athletics, with a strong track record of leadership, player development, and program building. Known for his relationship-driven coaching philosophy and commitment to academic and athletic success, Richardson steps into the role prepared to guide the Yellowjacket program into its next chapter following the departure of former head coach Terrence Isaac.

“Jeremy Richardson is a proven leader who understands the mission of two-year college athletics,” said Mike Lester, RCTC Athletic Director. “He has demonstrated success developing student-athletes on and off the field, building competitive programs, helping student-athletes move on to the four-year level, and fostering a culture of accountability and integrity. We are excited to welcome Jeremy to Rochester and the Yellowjacket community.”

Career Highlights

Richardson has built a diverse and accomplished coaching résumé across the junior college and collegiate levels. He previously served as Head Football Coach at Joliet Junior College, where his teams won Graphic Edge Bowl championships in 2007 and 2009 and produced nationally ranked, record-setting offenses. He later led programs at Northland Community & Technical College and Erie Community College, while also holding assistant coaching and leadership roles at Garden City Community CollegeTexas College, and North American University. In addition to his head coaching experience, Richardson served as Assistant Athletic Director at Trinity Valley Community College, contributing to both competitive success and program administration. He also has extensive experience in the academic advising and retention of student-athletes.  Throughout his career, he has coached and mentored numerous NJCAA student-athletes who advanced to four-year institutions, while consistently emphasizing academic accountability and personal development.

I’m excited to get to work building relationships, recruiting high-character young men, and competing at a championship level while preparing our players for life beyond football.”

Richardson is known for a coaching style centered on discipline, toughness, and accountability, paired with an emphasis on student success, community engagement, and leadership development. He will begin assembling his coaching staff immediately while focusing on recruiting, offseason development, and building connections across the campus and Rochester community.
