Zach Scott Named MCAC Wrestler of the Week: Zach Scott (RCTC), currently ranked #8 in the nation at 141 lbs. in the NCJAA, has earned Wrestler-of-the-Week honor for week of February 2nd thru February 9th.
On Saturday, February 4th, Scott and his RCTC teammates competed at the Don Parker Open at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire.
Scott compiled a 3-1 overall record, including two victories by pin. After opening the competition with a win by major decision over Quinn Miracle of UW-La Crosse, Scott went on to defeat Augsburg’s James Goman and UW-Eau Claire’s Jordan Meyer.
In the final, David Flynn, also of Augsburg, defeated Scott by a major deci-sion of 16-2.
RCTC, as well as the MCAC wrestling programs at Minnesota West, Itasca Community College and Ridgewater College will travel to Northland Com-munity & Technical College in Thief River Falls for the MCAC/ Region 13 North Division Wrestling Championships on Sunday, 2/12/17.
RCTC Women's Basektball player Nathalie Ratliff - MCAC Player of the Week: Nathalie Ratliff, a sophomore guard from Edina, Mn has been named the MCAC South Division Women’s basketball Player-of-the-Week for January 23rd—28th.
Ratliff lit up the scoreboard for 43 points over two MCAC games, while shooting 67% from the free throw line and averaging 6.5 rebounds. She collected 5 steals and averaged 4 assists per outing as well.
RCTC Men's Basketball player Malik Jones - MCAC Player of the Week: Malik Jones, a sophomore guard from St. Paul, led the Yellowjackets in two key MCAC South Di-vision victories and earned MCAC South Player-of-the-Week for his efforts.
Jones ran the show for the streaking Rochester squad, averaging 13.5 points, 8 boards, 3 assists and 1.5 steals over two games. RCTC found a way to overcome previously unbeaten Anoka-Ramsey at home, dealing the Rams their first MCAC loss (75-73) of the season and defeated Minne-sota State –Fergus Falls, 78-72.
RCTC Wrestler Tyus White - MCAC Wrestler of the Week: Tyus White, from Rochester Technical and Community College, has been selected as the MCAC Wrestler of the Week. Compet-ing at the Worthington open on Saturday, January 21st, Tyus finished 2nd overall in the 133# weight class.
White opened his day with a win by fall over Waldorf’s Jacob Adams. In his second match, and facing an opponent from NCAA Division I Mankato State, Tyus earned a 7-3 decision to defeat Dakota Welsh. White continued his run to the finals with a pin of Morningside’s Keegan Williams at the 6:38 mark of the match. In the finals, Tyus lost by a 7-1 score to George Farmah of Iowa Lakes Community College.
Currently, the RCTC Yellowjackets are ranked 10th in the nation by Intermatwrestle.com and the NJCAA.
Zach Scott MCAC Wrestler of the week: Competing at the Ridgewater Open on Saturday, January 14th, Zach Scott (RCTC) placed 2nd overall in the 141 pound weight class. Zach started his day with an impressive 18-3 technical fall over John Roddick of NCAA Division I St. Cloud State University. He then notched another victory over a Division I opponent, with a 19-9 major decision over Tony Heng of Man-kato State.
Advancing to the finals, Zach lost a very close match 10-7 to Adam Hedin of St. Cloud State University. Zach was one of 14 MCAC Wrestlers to finish in the Top 6 of their respective weight classes.

RCTC Yellowjackets Place Ten with Two Champions at the Dragon Open
This past Sunday the RCTC Yellowjackets competed at the Dragon Open in Moorhead, MN. The team put five wrestlers into the finals, with Coltan Laganiere (149) and Alfred Daniel (165) winning titles to lead the Yellowjacket squad.

Brandon Perce named Defensive Player of the Week. Brandon had 17 total tackles including 11 solo as Rochester topped Itasca 27-23. Perce, who leads the East Division in defensive points, had 6.5 TFL. He is a freshman from West Allis, WI.
Men's Golf Invite at Prairie du Chien Country Club, Prairie du Chein, WI. RCTC finished 3rd with a 320. Brett Egland shot 77, Keyth Hendricks shot 79, Brandon Bergen shot 80, Brady Becker shot 84 and Tyler Blaser shot 94.
Tara Rogers named MCAC All-Around Player of the Week. Tara was solid all-around for the Yellowjackets during a 1-2 week. Rogers had 36 kills
(2.6) with a .214 attack % through 131 attempts. She added 31 digs (2.2) and 7 aces.
Tara is a freshman from Stewartville, MN.
Treevon Prater named MCAC Defensive Player of the week. Prater made a defensive impact in several ways for the Yellowjackets during a 51-20 win over Vermilion. Prater had 2 INT (31.5 aver.), blocked a punt and recovered it for a TD, had 1 FF and 1 TFL. He is a freshman from East St. Louis, IL.
Men’s Golf Invite at the Jewel in Lake City, MN.
RCTC Finished 2nd in Lake City on Tuesday shooting a 340. Fergus Falls shot 316 to win.
Individually: Bret Egland shot a 84 to lead RCTC followed by Tyler Blaser and Keyth Hendricks with an 85. Brady Becker shot an 86 and Brandon Bergene shot 90.
Brandon Perce Named MCAC Defensive Player of the Week. Brandon had a busy day from his linebacker position during a hard-fought 31-20 loss to Central Lakes. Perce
had 20 total tackles with 10 being solo. He also had 3.5 TFL and 1.5 sacks. Brandon is a freshman from West Allis, WI.
Ashley Bichel Named MCAC Hitter of the Week. Ashley powered the Yellowjackets to a 3-3 week against strong competition that included a 3-1 win vs. #4 Central Lakes. Bichel had 68 kills (3.1) with a .305 attack% through 174 attacks. A force at the net, Ashley also registered 24 blocks (1.09). She is a sophomore from Caledonia, MN.
Monday Sept. 12 NIACC Golf Invite, RCTC men shoot 336 which tied them for 8th place out of 11 teams. Individual scores:
