Rochester, MN - On a cool and windy night at the Rochester Regional Stadium, the RCTC women's soccer team fell to Dakota County Technical Collee 3-1. The two teams split the season series as the Yellowjackets beat the Blue Knights in the season opener for both teams 3-0.
RCTC outshot DCTC 18-13 in the game, but it was the counter-attacking style that proved tough to stop as DCTC got a hat trick from Lily Hernandez. Two of the three goals were scored on balls that split the Yellowjacket defense and allowed Hernandez to get in alone against goalkeeper Fatima Sanchez Hernandez.
For the Jackets, Ally Weaver scored in the 70th minute on an assist from Mae Litschauer. Sanchez Hernandez had 10 saves on the night.
RCTC plays their final regular season contest on Wednesday night. The Jackets take on the Golden Rams of Anoka Ramsey at the Regional Stadium with kick-off set for 5:00pm. RCTC will then begin the Region XIII tournament taking on Lake Superior College in the first round. Time and location TBD.
