Rochester, MN - The RCTC women's soccer team, who was coming off a 5-0 conference win against Minnesota West, ran into a very good College of St. Scholastica JV team on Wednesday night at the Regional Stadium. The visitors tallied 2 first half goals, and added a 3rd in the second half to down the Jackets.
RCTC now is 6-2-1 on the season with their only two losses coming at the hands of four year college JV programs. The Yellowjackets four remaining regular season games are against other Junior College programs.
Wednesday's game was played mainly in the midfield as both teams did a good job of possessing the ball, however it was CSS who broke through for more quality scoring opportunities. Two of the three goals were scored on long passes through the Jacket defense, allowing the Saints forwards to get in alone against RCTC goalkeeper Fatima Sanchez-Hernandez.
The Yellowjackets are back in action on their home turf this Saturday, September 28th as they take on MCAC foe Lake Superior College. kickoff is set for 2:00pm.
