Yellowjackets run win streak to 10 games as they down MN West 84-57

Worthington, MN - The RCTC Yellowjackets wrapped up the regular season with a convincing 84-57 win on the road vs MN West on Saturday.  The Jackets got a big game from Kong Kong who earned is 17th double-double of the season with 24 points and 10 rebounds. The sophomore from Mankato, MN went 10-13 from the floor, including 3-5 from beyond the arc enroute to his 24 points. Freshman Devin Melzer continued his good play by adding 17 points and 9 rebounds.

The Yellowjacket defense proved to be too tough for the Blue Jays as RCTC held MN West to 31% shooting and forced 13 turnovers. RCTC, on the otherhand shot 43% from the floor.  The Jackets also held a dominiating ege on the glass as they outrebounded the Jays 56-31.

RCTC now turns its attention to the post-season as they head to the Region XIII tournament at Anoka-Ramsey this Friday-Sunday.  The Jackets earned the #2 seed in the Southern Division and will open the tournament with the #3 seed out of the North Hibbing Community College.  The RCTC vs Hibbing game will be the day one finale as tip is set for 7:00pm.
