RCTC's Kong Kong Earns First Team All-American

Charlotte, NC - The NJCAA today announced the Kong Kong has been selected as a First Team All-American by the NJCAA Division III Men's Basketball Committee.  Kong becomes only the second First Team election in the storied history of RCTC basketball.  Kong was one of only five members selected to the First Team, and one of only two players from the MCAC selected as an All-American.  Central Lake's Tyree'on Johnson was named Honorable Mention.

Kong was a force on both ends of the court for the Yellowjackets as the sophomore averaged a double-double for the season.  He averaged 16.2 points per game while pulling down 10.8 rebounds per contest. His 10.8 rebounds per game lead the MCAC.  In addition, Kong proved to be a dominating presence defensively as he averaged nearly 2 blocks per game to lead the MCAC. Kong started all 32 games for the Jackets and averaged 30 minutes per contest, as he shot nearly 51% from the field. Kong, from Mankato, MN will be continuing his academic and playing career at NCAA Division II Emporia State.
