LaCrosse, WI - The #10 ranked RCTC Yellowjackets built an 11 point lead (37-26) heading into the break in their conference opener on Wednesday night against Western Technical College, as they looked for win number twelve on the season. The Cavaliers had different ideas however, as they outscored the Jackets 43-29 in the second half enroute to the 69-66 win.
RCTC lead in nearly every statistical category on the night, including FG percentage, rebounds, and turnovers, however a 4-25 (16%) shooting night from beyond the arc doomed the Yellowjackets. WTC hit on 9-28 from 3-point range to help lift them to the win.
The Yellowjackets' Kong Kong had another double-double as the sophomore had 15 points and 15 rebounds to lead the way for RCTC. Mickey Jah (12) and Antonio Maddox (10) also scored in double figures for RCTC, while Jerome Cunningham added 8 on 4-6 shooting coming off the bench. RCTC shot 40.7% from the field and hit on 20-34 "two-point" shots (58%). RCTC was 14-22 from the line (64%), while WTC hit on 12-19 (63%).
RCTC (11-3) gets right back into conference play as they host Ridgewater Community College on Saturday in the Sports Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 3:00pm.
