RCTC uses strong second half to win against Fon du Lac Tribal CC

Rochester, MN - The RCTC men's basketball came out firing in the second half outscoring the Thunder of Fon du Lac Tribal CC 50-27 to pull away for a 93-57 win.  Jumah'Ri Turner lead the Yellowjackets with 19 points.  Justin Wofford enjoyed his highest scoring game of the season with 12 points on 6 of 7 shooting.  Wofford also had two blocks and 3 rebounds in just over 12 minutes played.

The Yellowjackets came out of the gates a little sluggish shooting 44% and leading only 43-30 at the break.  After the half however, the Yellowjackets turned up the pressure defensively holding the Thunder to 27 points on 32% shooting while pouring in 50 points of their own and shooting 51% for the half.  RCTC shot 48% for the game while holding FDL to 34% and forcing 28 Thunder turnovers.

Fourteen RCTC players played in the game and twelve scored.  Joining Turner and Wofford in double figures was Naa'il Mahdi with 12 points.  Mahdi also lead the team with 6 assists. Ray Adams filled the stat sheet with 9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 blocks and 2 steals.  While Tyree Caruthers had 7 points and 4 steals on the day.

The Yellowjackets are back in action next Tuesday at the Rochester Regional Sports Center, hosting non-conference foe Ellsworth Community College at 7:30pm
