RCTC Men's Basketball comeback falls just short

Coon Rapids, MN - The RCTC men's basketball team dug themselves a hole they couldn't quite get out of, falling to MN West by the score of 85-80 in the Rehion XIII semi-finals.  The Yellowjackets, who at one point found themselves down by 25, couldn't quite finish the comeback.

RCTC (23-6), fell behind early and trailed 43-27 at the half, before the second half comeback began.  The Jackets who shot only 31% in the first half made their comeback by shooting a blistering 59% in the second stanza.  RCTC cut the second half lead to 1 with only to minutes remaing, but couldn't get over the hump as MN West knockdown their free throws down the stretch for the win.

The Yellowjackets were lead in scoring by Jumah'Ri Turner, who scored a career high 43 points on the game. Unfortunately for the Yellowjackets Turner was the only player to finish in double figures.  For the game the Jackets shot 45% while MN West hit on 50% of their fieldgoals.

The Yellowjackets play tomorrow in the third place game against Vermillion Community College, tip-off is at 1:00pm
