Rochester, MN - The RCTC men's basketball team knew that tonight's game would be a major early season challenge. Consider the challenge met, as the Yellowjackets downed Division II Ellsworth Community College 76-64. The Yellowjackets came out on firs in the first half shooting nearly 60% from the field while holding ECC to 29% shooting en route to a 47-30 halftime advantage. The second half was extremely competitive as both teams locked it down defensively with ECC hold a second half edge in scoring 34-29.
For the game RCTC shot 50.8% from the floor while ECC was held to 37.1%. The Jackets were lead by Jumah'Ri Turner with 19 points, Ray Adams with 17, and TYree Caruthers with 12. LaVeechie Williams lead ECC with 16 points.
RCTC is on the road this weekend playing games at Vermillion Community College on Friday and Mesabi Range on Saturday, before returning home on Monday, December 11th for a non-conference game with Bethany Lutheran's JV.
